QUICK TAKE:
Action Adventure: A bar-owning, bounty hunting, popping-out-of-her-outfit woman helps another woman escape the clutches of an evil military regime.
PLOT:
The year is 2017 and the second American Civil War is raging. The only city not under control by the evil Congressional Directorate is Steel Harbor. Barb Wire (PAMELA ANDERSON LEE) runs a popular bar and when she's not dancing semi-naked, she's out busting heads and collecting bounties. She has a run in with the C.D. when an old acquaintance, Axel, arrives with Corrina Devonshire, or Corra D., a woman on the run. It seems that Corra D. has an antidote in her blood to a biological weapon that the CD wishes to use. Thus they’re after her and Axl wants Barb's help in getting Corra D. to safety. So Barb goes into action kicking butts, dealing with the local police chief, Willis, and an assorted crew of local thugs and evil politicians.
WILL KIDS WANT TO SEE IT?
It does have that comic book feel to it, and the teenage boys will definitely want to see Pamela in her revealing and very tight fitting leather outfits.
WHY THE MPAA RATED IT: R
For violence and nudity/sexuality.
CAST AS ROLE MODELS:
  • PAMELA ANDERSON LEE plays a scantily clad, butt kicking woman who always has a scowl on her face.
  • CAST, CREW, & TECHNICAL INFO

    HOW OTHERS RATED THIS MOVIE

    ALCOHOL OR DRUG USE
  • Since most of the plot takes place at a bar, there is a lot of drinking and Barb Wire consumes some herself (including what is implied to be a lot of "Wild Turkey" in one scene) and a man is seen throwing up outside a bar apparently from having had too much.
  • BLOOD/GORE
  • A man has scar tissue all over his eyes.
  • A man throws up outside the bar.
  • A bloody organ from a body is seen on a table.
  • Barb tosses a hand grenade into the lap of a local crime boss and blows him up in a bloody red explosion.
  • DISRESPECTFUL/BAD ATTITUDE
  • A man heckles Barb as she does her dance performance -- so she kills him.
  • Just about everybody has a bad attitude (there is a civil war going on), particularly the Congressional Directorate.
  • Barb does things only for herself (i.e. Rescuing a kidnaping victim only for the reward money, etc...).
  • FRIGHTENING/TENSE SCENES
  • Basically there are action scenes that some might find barely tense, such as when Barb dangles from a crane a hundred feet above the ground. But most are played out as just as action oriented scenes.
  • GUNS/WEAPONS
  • There are many scenes where handguns, shotguns, machine guns, and grenades are used by both Barb and the bad guys to damage property, and injure and kill many, many people (for specifics see "Violence").
  • IMITATIVE BEHAVIOR
  • Other than details listed in the other categories, there isn't much to imitate.
  • JUMP SCENES
  • None.
  • MUSIC (SCARY/TENSE)
  • There is some suspenseful music here and there, but most of it would better be described as music for action scenes.
  • MUSIC (INAPPROPRIATE)
  • None.
  • PROFANITY
  • 1 "f" word, 11 "s" words, 5 damns, 5 asses, 3 hells.
  • SEX/NUDITY
  • When Barb’s breasts aren’t clearly seen, they might as well be for her skin-tight leather thong outfits nearly reveal them and her butt anyway.
  • Barb’s bare breasts are seen during a water sprayed dance performance.
  • A nude woman (covered by machinery in all the right places) lies on a table being interrogated.
  • There are bare breasted woman inside the bar.
  • A man tries to pick up a woman inside the bar by asking her if she’d like to do some breeding.
  • Barb poses like a prostitute and picks up a man who takes her back to his place. He returns from the bathroom dressed in a full leather S&M suit. (They don’t do anything, and she knocks him out with his S&M paddle).
  • Barb is seen undressing behind a dressing wall and her bare breasts are seen. A man enters and tells her "blow me."
  • Barb is taking a bubble bath and her bare breasts are seen. She then gets up out of the tub and is covered only by bubbles (but nothing more is seen).
  • Barb’s bare breasts are seen again.
  • SMOKING
  • As most of the plot takes place at a bar, there is a lot of smoking of cigarettes and cigars, but Barb Wire doesn’t smoke (except for a fake cigarette used to shoot a dart at a man).
  • TENSE FAMILY SCENES
  • Barb returns a kidnaped teen to her family.
  • TOPICS TO TALK ABOUT
  • None.
  • VIOLENCE
  • Barb removes her high heeled shoe and flings it at a heckler. It impales into his forehead and he drops backwards dead.
  • Barb shoots a dart from a fake cigarette into another man’s head and he falls over either dead or sedated.
  • The bad guys (Congressional Directorate) torture a woman by probing her memory for secrets. This process is akin to electrocution as is painful to her as she writhes and screams in pain -- until it eventually kills her.
  • Many secondary scenes where men are seen in fistfights inside and outside a bar.
  • Two men are shot with handguns, then the killers pull out shotguns and machine guns and make Swiss cheese of a car while trying to kill Axl and Corra D.
  • Axl and Corra D. confront two security guards, killing one by breaking his neck.
  • Barb bashes a "john" (see "sex/nudity") in the back of the head with his S&M paddle.
  • Barb punches a man in the face and then "arrests" him.
  • Two men enter the above scene and open fire with machine guns and make Swiss cheese of the place. Barb fires back killing one of them, and after more machine gun fire, she finally kills him too.
  • Barb threatens to kill her bounty (the above arrested man) if she doesn’t get paid her full amount.
  • The local police storm into the bar and fire their weapons into the air to get attention.
  • Barb sics her dog on a disrespectful man and the dog attaches itself to the man’s groin area, inflicting much pain.
  • Quote: "I’ll rip your heart out through your ass and shove it back down your throat."
  • Barb punches Axl in the face(the two previously had something going between them, then he left).
  • The Congressional Directorate storm into a room and, using machine guns, kill three people.
  • A dead man’s body is shocked (as the C.D. tries to get his last memories out) and it writhes in its ice filled container.
  • The C.D. completely vandalizes Barb’s bar, shooting and smashing it to bits.
  • A dead woman with a noose around her neck is lowered to the floor.
  • Charlie undergoes the memory scan and writhes and screams in pain and his skin begins to smoke (he’s later seen dead).
  • Barb tosses a hand grenade into the lap of a local crime boss and blows him to bits.
  • Quote: "If we get out of this alive, Barb, I’ll kill you."
  • Axl knocks out a construction worker in order to use his crane.
  • The entire end of the movie is a big chase scene with lots of gunfire, grenade launching and many deaths inflicted by Barb.
