Comedy/Drama: A group of Hawaiian teens race their solar powered car in an international race.
PLOT:
A group of Hawaiian high school students, formerly believed to be losers, decides to compete in a solar powered car race. Their teacher Sandra Beecher (HALLE BERRY) and shop teacher, Frank Machi (JAMES BELUSHI) help them win the state championship. From there they are off to Australia to compete in the world solar powered car race, where they must contend with better equipped teams and their own self doubts as to whether they can win.
WILL KIDS WANT TO SEE IT?
Probably. Although there are no real name attractions for kids, the fact that it's about teens might just draw them to this.

For mild language and a brief incident of teen drinking.
CAST AS ROLE MODELS:
HALLE BERRY plays a high school teacher who encourages her students to pursue their dreams and she participates by helping them do just that.
JAMES BELUSHI plays a shop teacher who at first is reluctant to help but later becomes the students' biggest supporter.
THE STUDENTS are a rag tag group who, as individuals, overcome their self doubts and prove to others that they are winners.
One of the students drinks from a flask. The next day her driving performance is impaired, an effect from the drinking the night before. The group later confronts her with her drinking problem, telling her she can't drive anymore.
A sudden and violent dust storm engulfs the team, blinding, choking and scaring them.
A pair of tractor trailer trucks, running side by side, almost run over three solar cars.
A girl is asleep in a bus when she's awakened by weird sounds outside. She's scared, but it only lasts a few seconds.
Smoke begins to fill the car while a girl drives. It then catches on fire, and she crashes and is trapped inside as the flames grow. She's very scared, but is finally rescued.
