QUICK TAKE:
Horror: A small group of friends tries to avoid contracting a contagious, fleshing eating virus while vacationing in a cabin in the backwoods.
PLOT:
Paul (RIDER STRONG), his longtime friend Karen (JORDAN LADD), another couple, Jeff (JOEY KERN) and Marcy (CERINA VINCENT), along with their boorish friend Bert (JAMES DeBOLLO), have arrived at a cabin in the woods for a week of rest and relaxation.

Little do they know, however, that they're about to come face to face with the horrors of an infectious, flesh eating virus. After a bloody encounter with a stranger infected with it - that draws the attention of Deputy Winston (GIUSEPPE ANDREWS) - various members of the small group start to contract the disease. As their condition progressively worsens, the surviving members do what they can to avoid getting it themselves, all while dealing with some less than welcoming locals.

WILL KIDS WANT TO SEE IT?
If they're into horror films, they just might.

    HOW OTHERS RATED THIS MOVIE

Curious if this title is entertaining, any good, and/or has any artistic merit?
Then read OUR TAKE of this film.

(Note: The "Our Take" review of this title examines the film's artistic merits and does not take into account any of the possibly objectionable material listed below).

    OUR WORD TO PARENTS:
The following is a brief summary of the content found in this R-rated horror film. Profanity consists of at least 135 "f" words, while other expletives and colorful phrases are uttered. Sexually related dialogue (some of it explicit) is also present, as are several sexual encounters (with movement, nudity and sounds) and other fooling around.

Violence consists of several bloody killings, some vicious dog attacks, and people hitting or wounding others. All of that, coupled with the results of the flesh-eating disease results in an extreme amount of blood and gore. Those scenes and others, including various jump scenes and scary music, might be unsettling, suspenseful or frightening to some viewers (particularly younger ones and those with low tolerance levels for such material), but others may find little if any of the proceedings that way.

Various characters have varying degrees of bad attitudes, some drink, some smoke and a few briefly smoke pot. Should you still be concerned about the film's appropriateness for yourself or anyone else in your home, you may want to look more closely at our detailed listings for more specific information regarding the film's content.

For those concerned with flashes of flight on the screen, some of that occurs during a lighting storm.

    ALCOHOL OR DRUG USE
  • We see some liquor called "Arrogant bastard ale."
  • Some in the group drink beer around a campfire. A stranger then shows up and the group doesn't want him to join them until he says that he'll have to go off and smoke his weed by himself. That man and some in the group then smoke pot and drink more beer. Bert then states that he's only going to drink beer for the rest of their trip. The stranger then leaves and a comment is made about him coming back and bringing the weed.
  • Deputy Winston shows up at the cabin where he tells Karen to go back inside and have a "big 40" (beer).
  • Jeff leaves with some beer.
  • Winston and others drink.
  • Winston drinks and drives.
  • BLOOD/GORE
  • A man carries a dead rabbit through the woods where he comes across a dead dog on the ground (it's slightly bloody). He then proceeds to open the dog and blood squirts onto his face.
  • We see a guy's urine stream.
  • Bert encounters a sick looking person in the woods, fires a warning shot and accidentally hits the person (with bloody results).
  • A person tells a campfire story about a mass murderer who has bound and gagged various bloody people in a bowling alley. The killer then hits a person on the head with a small hammer, resulting in more blood. We then hear that he hacked off their limbs (and partially see that, including a leg moving from the impact of the cutting). We then see him bowling with bloody, severed body parts and then see a severed head in the ball return.
  • A bloody guy is suddenly at the door.
  • A sick person spits up a lot of blood and then does projectile vomiting of blood (and we later see a lot of blood inside a truck).
  • We see some flashbacks of earlier bloody images.
  • We see a dead body floating in some water.
  • A woman on a farm guts a live pig (hanging upside down). We don't see the actual cutting, but do see two guys' reactions, hear the pig squeal and then see its bloody intestines hanging out. The woman then has blood on her gloves and face.
  • We see blood all over a truck.
  • After fondling Karen, Paul removes his hand to reveal blood on it and we then see blood all over her and the bed (from the infectious disease).
  • Karen's legs are very bloody and she then does some projectile vomiting of blood.
  • Bert coughs up some blood and then has some blood on his neck and hands.
  • The skin on Marcy's back is all ripped up and covered in blisters. Unaware of that, she shaves her legs in the tub and eventually sees the bloody wounds on her legs. We then see lots of blood on her and in the bathwater.
  • We see a decomposed body floating in some water. Paul climbs down a ladder to look at it, but the ladder breaks away and he falls onto the body in the water.
  • Bert is very bloody and wipes blood on a tree as a decoy.
  • We see a bloody, severed foot.
  • We see a dog feeding on a person.
  • A person rolls another presumably dead person over to reveal a bloody, partially skeletal face (and that person is still alive). That person then does a mercy killing (we don't see the impact, but hear it and see blood splatter onto the first person).
  • Several people end up killing each other (including being shot with bloody results, another accidentally shooting a third with bloody results, and another having a screwdriver jammed into the side of their head).
  • A person hides in a dark cave and finds a very bloody, dead body with what looked like worms in their ear.
  • A car strikes a deer, resulting in it being severely wounded and bloody (it flails about). A person then shoots and kills the deer (with blood then on his face).

  • Marcy asks Bert if he has any more smokes, and he lies that he doesn't.

  • Bert steals a candy bar from a country store, but is caught.
  • A person makes the comment, "Don't be a f*cking retard." The term "fruitcake" is later used; Bert carries a rifle that he says he's going to use to shoot "gay squirrels;" and when Paul asks if this is a date when he and Karen kiss, she responds, "Don't be gay."

  • Paul fondles Karen's crotch while she's asleep.
  • Some locals chase after and try to kill Bert.
  • FRIGHTENING SCENES
  • Scenes listed under "Violence" and/or "Blood/Gore" may be unsettling, suspenseful or scary to some viewers (particularly younger ones and those with low tolerance levels for such material), but others may find little if any of the proceedings that way.

  • Marcy playfully puts her hand on Jeff's clothed crotch and kisses him as he drives. They then do some passionate kissing.
  • We see Jeff and Marcy on a bed. He's shirtless on top of her and then lifts her shirt to expose her bare belly. Paul then walks in on them and makes some comment about safe sex. A bit later, we see them having sex with movement, sounds and the sight of her bare breasts. She then gets on top of him (he's on his stomach) and it's implied that she puts her finger (or something) in his rectum (we see his reaction).

  • The camera focuses on Marcy's clothed butt as she walks along (in slow motion).
  • Winston makes some comment about "five pounds of dangling meat" (referring to a penis) and women, and then states that he knows he's going to get "p*ssy" at a party.

She then makes some pleasured sounds (while still asleep) as we see movement under the covers of his hand at her crotch and hear wet/juicy sounds from that action (but that turns out to be from blood rather than lubrication).
  • We see partial glimpses (bare butt) of a nude woman lying on a bed, but views of anything else explicit are blocked.
  • Marcy comments on their situation being like being on a plane that's going down where you want to grab the person next to you and "f*ck the sh*t out of them." After they're done, Paul then pours Listerine on his penis (not seen), apparently in a cleansing move.
  • We see Marcy's bare breasts.

We then see him bowling with bloody, severed body parts and then see a severed head in the ball return.
