PLOT & PARENTAL REVIEW

VIDEO:
(B) Moderate amounts of pixelation mar some parts of the disc's picture quality. The sauna scene, as well as the endless staircase scene are noticeably bad in this respect, and glimpses of the sky or other solid and light-colored parts of the picture (especially walls) are similarly distracting, giving the film a grainy feel. In addition, a few film artifacts (scratches and other blips, most noticeably at the beginning of the film) also show up.

At other times, however, the picture is quite sharp and displays a great deal of detail, particularly in outdoor scenes that also show vibrant and unsaturated colors (as compared to the more muted, and dimly lit indoor scenes).

AUDIO:
(A) The audio is quite good, with crisp dialogue, good sounds effects and score, and decent spatial effects.
EXTRAS:
  • Scene selection/Jump to any scene.
  • Cast and Crew filmography and biographies (on-screen text).
  • "Behind the Scenes" (on-screen text concerning the film's production).
  • "Avengers The TV Series" (on-screen text about the original TV show as well as filmographies and biographies for original cast members).
  • Theatrical Trailer.
  • Additional trailers for "Batman & Robin," "Dangerous Liaisons," The Man Who Would Be King," "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation" and "U.S. Marshals."
  • COMMENTS:
A horrible misfire — considering the stellar and usually reliable cast and the original TV show from which this was based — the film is probably worse (in an artistic sense) the second time around. Unfortunately not even working as goofy "camp" material, only the most diehard fans of someone in the cast will probably want to own this disc.
