PLOT & PARENTAL REVIEW

VIDEO:
(B+) Although the picture, for the most part, is quite sharp, some compression-related pixalation does occur, particularly in lighter shades of solid colors (and is much more noticeable in the full screen, pan & scan version). In addition, while the picture's colors are quite vibrant, the flesh-tones may be a bit too over-saturated. Overall, however, the picture is decent and the problems aren't too distracting.
AUDIO:
(A+) Featuring a bevy of 80's era songs, the soundtrack rarely ceases in pumping out the tunes and the dialogue is very crisp and easy to understand.
EXTRAS:
  • Scene selection/Jump to any scene (with moving images as scene guides).
  • The extras section features a fun and interactive menu (but may get a bit old and time consuming after seeing it several times).
  • Cast & Crew filmographies and biographies (on screen text).
  • Karoke songs (5) from the 80's (sing-alone or with lyrics).
  • "Wedding Album:" Photo gallery from movie (30+ images).
  • "Wedding Chapel:" 50 Text-based questions and answers where the viewer guesses the song name and band from a given lyric.
  • COMMENTS:
Although the film is lightweight, fluffy stuff, it's still quite infectious, particularly if you still hold fond memories of the "Big 80's." With some fun (and inventive) supplemental features, this is a must have disc for fans of the movie.
